Digirad Corporation provides diagnostic nuclear and ultrasound imaging systems and services to physicians’ offices, hospitals, imaging centers, and other medical services providers primarily in the United States. It offers solid-state nuclear gamma camera for the detection of cardiovascular disease and other medical conditions. The company also provides mobile imaging services leasing program as an alternative to purchasing a gamma camera or ultrasound machine to physicians who wish to perform nuclear imaging, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, or any combination of these procedures in their offices by leasing the imaging system, certified personnel, and other support required to perform imaging in the physician office. In addition, it offers DigiTech leases to customers who own one of its nuclear gamma cameras but contract with the company for staffing and other support services. As of December 31, 2007, Digirad provided mobile imaging services to approximately 800 physicians and physician groups, which include internists, other primary care practitioners, and cardiologists. It also sold 531 cameras. The company was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Poway, California.
