Project Hunter is a global manufacturer and marketer of specialty medical products for use in the surgical suite. The product line, determined to be "non-core", was acquired by a British consumer products conglomerate as part of a leveraged build-up during the 1990's. The Company has a premier brand, loyal user base, and strong global market position. Cash flow trends were flattening due to lack of operating discipline and growth strategy in the face of intensifying global competition. Healthios led the worldwide business due diligence to evaluate: the level of switching barriers due to physician preference in purchasing dynamics through extensive physician and purchasing officer interviews, expected competitive results in upcoming GPO tenders, potential manufacturing savings in a large, southeast Asian facility, the attractiveness and viability of the new product pipeline, and the strategic platform possibilities of the separated entity. We appointed the Company's world class management team and Board of Directors. Healthios also developed their stand-alone operating plan and strategy.
