Johnson & Johnson filed for regulatory approval with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of its blood-thinning pill Xarelto for the prevention of thrombosis in patients bedridden after major orthopaedic surgery. J&J has submitted a new drug application (NDA) with the FDA that covers the use of the pill for hip or knee replacement surgeries.
