Richard R. Gustafson

Richard R. Gustafson is a Partner in Heidrick & Struggles' Health Care Practices, based in the firm's Chicago office. Dick served as the Managing Partner for the Health Care Practice for eight years and now leads the Health Care Board of Directors Practice. Dick's clients have been principally health care related organizations for which he has conducted searches for Board members, chief executive officers and the senior executive terms. Prior to his joining Heidrick & Struggles in 1988, Dick had 16 years of executive experience. He was President of Parkside Human Services and Parkside Associates in Park Ridge, IL. In these positions, he was responsible for the successful development and management of such diversified operations as: one of the largest physician group practices in Illinois; multiple senior adult living centers; physician/hospital joint ventures including HMO and PPO; a consulting practice; a hospital supply company; and a national materials management program. He has held a variety of other administrative positions in healthcare organizations. Mr. Gustafson holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago with a concentration in Health Care, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College. He is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives, Medical Group Management Association, and the American Hospital Association.
