Carlos del Salto



Mr. del Salto is a Senior Vice President of Baxter World Trade Corporation. Mr. del Salto has served in this capacity since June 1996. He is responsible for Baxter's Intercontinental and Asian operations. The Intercontinental region includes Latin and South American countries, Australia, New Zealand and Turkey. The Asian region is comprised of China, Japan and other Asian countries. His area of responsibility consists of over 30 countries, 12 manufacturing facilities and employs approximately 6,600 people. Mr. del Salto joined Baxter in 1973 as a Financial Auditor. He became General Manager of Baxter Mexico in 1984. In 1988, he was appointed Vice President of the Company's Latin American operations. Three years later, he was promoted to President, Latin America/Switzerland/Austria. In 1992, he was named Corporate Vice President of Baxter World Trade Corporation with responsibility for the Intercontinental region, which included Eastern and Central Europe. During this time, Mr. del Salto was named Chairman of the Latin America Board, which was established to coordinate regional initiatives across all of Baxter's businesses. Mr. del Salto holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Juan de Velazco College in Ecuador, and a Master's degree in Finance from Chicago's Roosevelt University.
