Metris NV provides metrology solutions for dimensional quality control to the engineering and manufacturing departments of automotive and aerospace companies, and their suppliers worldwide. Its solutions include measuring hardware, application software, and customer services. The company’s products consist of coordinate measuring machine (CMM), a mechanical motorized system designed to move a measuring probe (or sensor) to determine the coordinates of points on the surface of an object. It offers three types of fixed CMMs, including bridge, horizontal arm, and gantry CMMs. The company also offers K-Series Optical CMM, a portable measurement device for geometrical quality control and is suitable for point measurements and motion measurements, such as robot tracking; and a range of handheld and CMM laser sensors. In addition, the company offers laser radar products that offer a solution for large volume measurement; and iGPS, a modular, large volume tracking system that enables factory-wide localization of multiple objects. Further, it offers single point software, Camio, which is a hardware independent software package that supports the company’s CMMs and ports to industry-standard equipment, such as third party CMMs and articulated arms; and point cloud software products, including the Focus suite, which is complemented with the Kube handheld scanning software that enables touch probe and laser scanning measurements. Metris also involves in intelligent laser systems and integration services business, which comprises the provision of technologies to aircraft manufacturing, such as large scale integrated measurement systems, advanced laser projection equipment, and workcell automation solutions. The company was founded in 1995. It was formerly known as Metris International Holding NV and changed its name to Metris NV in 2006. The company is headquartered in Leuven, Belgium.
