Teleflex Incorporated engages in the design, manufacture, and distribution of engineered products for commercial, medical, and aerospace industries in North America, Europe, and Asia. It operates through two segments, Medical and Aerospace. The Medical segment provides disposable medical products used in the clinical specialty areas of anesthesia, respiratory care, and urology; and surgical instrument and medical device products, including hand-held instruments for general and specialty surgical procedures, devices used in cardiovascular, orthopedic and general surgery, and minimally-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic care. This segment also offers specialty devices, including custom-designed and manufactured specialty instruments for cardiovascular and orthopedic procedures, specialty sutures, microcatheters, introducers, and guidewires. The Aerospace segment provides repair products and services for flight and ground-based turbine engines; and manufactures and distributes precision-machined components, including fan blades, compressor blades, cases, blisks, and other components for military and commercial flight turbine engines. This segment also provides cargo-handling systems, which include on-board cargo-handling systems for wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, actuators, cargo containers, and aftermarket spare parts. Teleflex Incorporated sells its products directly to original equipment manufacturers and to the automotive aftermarket, as well as through dealers, independent representatives, distributors, and retail outlets. The company was founded in 1938 and is based in Limerick, Pennsylvania.
