Its specialty pharmacy business focuses on supporting individuals that require drug therapies to treat conditions, such as organ transplants; HIV/AIDS; and genetic conditions, including infertility, multiple sclerosis, and certain cancers. The company’s retail healthcare clinics operate under the MinuteClinic name; and the pharmacy services business operates under the Caremark Pharmacy Services, PharmaCare Management Services, and PharmaCare Pharmacy names. As of June 30, 2007, the company operated 6,230 retail and specialty drug stores, 22 specialty mail order pharmacies, 10 mail service pharmacies, and 196 healthcare clinics in 44 states and the District of Columbia. The company was founded in 1892. It was formerly known as CVS Corporation and changed its name to CVS/Caremark Corporation in March 2007; and to CVS Caremark Corporation in May 2007. The company is headquartered in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
