Wasserstein & Co., L.P. engages in private equity and venture capital through its U.S. Equity Partners and Wasserstein Ventures funds respectively. U.S. Equity Partners is a buyout fund that primarily invests in the following industries: media and publishing; branded food and consumer products; business/professional services; general industrial; and energy. U.S. Equity Partners’ equity investments range from $25 million to $150 million. Wasserstein Ventures is a venture capital fund that provides growth capital to later- and expansion-stage technology businesses. Wasserstein Ventures' favored industries of interest are semiconductor device products (for consumer, embedded, multimedia, military/aerospace, and telecommunications applications); enterprise software (applications and infrastructure); wireline telecommunications infrastructure components and systems; IT security appliances and software; hardware and software solutions for wireless networks; enterprise networking systems (including storage networking); electronic design automation software (EDA); and semiconductor process equipment or technologies. Wasserstein Ventures initially invests $4 million to $7 million in a portfolio company, and it provides up to $15 million over an investment’s life cycle.
