Siemens Venture Capital GmbH (SVC) is the venture capital investment arm of Siemens AG. The firm specializes in seed/startup, early, and expansion stage financing. Microelectronics investments include new semiconductor technologies, Inp, GaN, and next generation SAN/NAS devices. Lighting investments include solid state lighting sources. Within power technologies, it focuses on alternative energy sources, Internet-based power distribution, quality and management (e-utility), and remote metering. In information and communications, it invests in mobile communications, convergence, broadband access, security, optical networking, fixed wireless, enterprise communication applications, and voice over IP. The firm focuses on companies in North America, Europe, Israel, and Asia. It invests between $0.64 million and $6.36 million per transaction. The firm was founded in 1999 and is based in Munich, Germany with additional offices in Boston, Massachusetts; San Jose, California; Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel; Beijing, China and Mumbai, India.
