Drogasil SA has announced that it is looking at further acquisitions following the purchase of Drogaria Vison last week. According to the Valor Econômico, despite Drogasil's appetite for future acquisitions, the company's President And Director of Investor Relations, Cláudio Roberto Ely, indicated that its preference is to grow organically by expanding in regions where it is already present.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. has formed a 50:50 joint venture (JV) with the Yash Birla Group. The JV will set up two newhospitals in Thane and Nashik. The hospitals will have a capacity of 250 beds each.

Amedisys Inc. signed a definitive stock purchase agreement to acquire TLC Health Care Services, Inc. from Arcapita Inc., Monroe Capital LLC, Istithmar World Capital P.J.S.C. and other shareholders for $395 million in cash on February 19, 2008.
