Conceptus Inc. reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2007. Net sales for the fourth quarter of 2007 were $18.6 million, up 44% over net sales of $12.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2006 and up 13% over net sales of $16.4 million for the third quarter of 2007. The net loss for the fourth quarter of 2007 was $2.8 million, or $0.09 per share, compared with the net loss for the fourth quarter of 2006 of $3.9 million, or $0.13 per share. Included in the net loss for the fourth quarter of 2007 and 2006 were non-cash stock-based compensation expenses of $1.8 million and $1.6 million, respectively. Strong net sales during the fourth quarter of 2007 were due to domestic sales growth of the Essure system of 48% over the prior year fourth quarter and 14% over the third quarter of 2007.
